An RDMS is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - one of the most specialized types of healthcare providers in the United States. Our sonographers at 3DBabyVu are fully credentialed in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). A registered sonographer has completed an 24-month course in ultrasound and has been supervised for one year of full-time scanning. Registered sonographers are trained to obtain the best possible pictures using ultrasound and to identify anomalies as depicted by ultrasound. There are only 60,000 registered medical diagnostic sonographers in the United States as of 2008. A credentialed sonographer is not to be confused with a certified sonographer, as many certificates are awarded for simply completing weekend classes.
